Basiclly everything is reversed in that I mean when you car is off and the sholder belt is attached, the chime goes off, when the car is running and the sholder belt is attached and the drivers door is opened the chime does not go off? Key in acc, radio on, open door and you should hear the chime. Maybe your door sensors are signalling the door is open, so when you turn the key out of run, the chime is saying 'don't forget your keys'. Isn't flashing either. If the noise stops when you turn the ignition, I would suspect the ignition switch because under normal operation, I believe the door ajar will continue the chime even when the ignition is on. 05-18-2004, 04:28 PM.

Off topic, but when my ignition went, it was with the final position, you know the one that engages the starter. Well for some reason that piece that is able to slide in and out seems to be stuck in. Your chime is activated with key in ACC and door closed? Why does my door chime go off every time I open the driver door (and only the driver door)? Warning Chime Won't Stop. Will let you know if the drain is gone too. With the key in the ignition, even partially, engine off and door open, it dings..... a lot, and loudly. Then tap into a constant hot source (like one of the 12v outlets) and run that wire to the other outer terminal on the switch. My 2011 allows me to disable the chime for seatbelts (special ignition key / insert-remove seatbelt sequence) The dash light is still there if your not wearing your seat belt but the chime is silent.
