July 4th is almost here! Expect funky, fun and good-natured laughter as people line Crested Butte's Elk Avenue for the July 4th parade, which starts at 11 a. Come to Crested Butte to enjoy the beautiful scenery and don't forget to bring your camera!! If you're heading to the mountains and want to do something other than hiking, check out the Snowmass Art Festival, a three-day event that showcases local Colorado and national artists, representing a wide array of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, wood, and more. This festival began in 1986 through the efforts of a few insightful Crested Butte locals who envisioned a wildflower celebration in one of the most picturesque valleys in Colorado. A DJ will play from 7-10 p. and the laser show will start at 9 p. Catch it at the Red Lady Stage. They will provide the full scoop on this year's 4th of July events. It's all happening this weekend. There are currently no technicians in the area and the town would cover the cost to train a technician from the police department or fire department. The 4th of July in Crested Butte is a patriotic celebration full of music, food, races, and fun. Individual, Aquathlon and Relay Categories Available!!! We'll learn how to make a soothing lavender/calendula oil and healing salve, boost heart health with delicious hibiscus tea, concoct a potent fire cider to boost our immune system, and more.
